Now, all the world's gone out and has some fun. I'm leaving, too, 'cause I've got work to do. Eventually, when all my work is done I think I'll give it a shot and get right back to you. And maybe I will find you'll have - but I'll take that risk - found the love of your life in anybody else. But if you're happy, I think I can be happy, too, and free at last of myself. I don't think I could have changed your opinion. I don't think I could have been the man of your choice and I don't think I could have revived your old feelings. But at least I am happy that we tried. I failed to be a light in your darkest of times, a fire that could keep the cold away, an anchor to hold on to in stormy tides. None of all that would bother you much, you say. It's just that we fell apart - and we took that risk, willingly and at chance like anybody else.
